Sweet chilli sauce
Also called Thai sweet chilli sauce, sweet chili sauce, nam jim kai, nam jim gai
Thai syrupy sauce of chilli, garlic, sugar and vinegar; sweet, tangy and mildly hot. Dip for spring rolls, fishcakes and grilled chicken, and a glaze.
What can replace it

Thicker and hotter, less syrupy and sour; thin with a little rice vinegar.
- T3 · In a pinchHot honey
Sweet and hot but no acidity or garlic; add a splash of vinegar. (use 0.75× the amount)

Fruity sweet-sour but no heat or garlic; add chilli flakes.
