Mala seasoning
Also called mala spice mix, mala powder
Dry Sichuan spice mix of chilli, Sichuan pepper, salt and sugar; numbing and hot. Sprinkled over grilled skewers, fried snacks, potatoes and popcorn.
What can replace it

Wet and fatty; fry in, but don't use as a dry sprinkle.

Numbing only; add chilli flakes and salt. (use 0.3× the amount)

No numbing; add ground Sichuan pepper and salt.
