Also called tomato passata, sieved tomatoes, strained tomatoes

Smooth, uncooked sieved tomatoes without skins or seeds; the quick base for pasta sauce, pizza sauce, curries and stews.

What can replace it

    Blend and sieve first; chunkier and a little thinner unless cooked down.
