Also called zhug, skhug, schug, Yemeni green chilli sauce
Yemeni green chilli sauce of fresh chillies, coriander, parsley, garlic and spices; herby and fiery. Served with falafel, sabich, eggs and grilled meat.
What can replace it

Parsley and oregano rather than coriander, with milder heat; add green chilli.

Mintier and sweet-sour, without the cardamom and cumin warmth.

Heat only, no herbs; mix with chopped coriander and garlic. (use 0.5× the amount)

Tart tomatillo base and much looser, with little herb punch.
