Canned green chillies
Also called tinned green chillies, diced green chiles, roasted green chiles
Mild green chillies, roasted, peeled and diced, sold in cans. A Tex-Mex staple for enchiladas, chile con queso, casseroles and soups.
What can replace it

Roast, peel and dice them first; that is what the can holds.

Much hotter and crisper; roast first and use about half. (use 0.5× the amount)

Roast and peel; earthier and a little hotter than canned green chillies.
- T3 · In a pinchGreen peppers
No heat and more bitter; roast first and add a pinch of chilli.
- T3 · In a pinchPickled jalapeños
Vinegary and hotter; rinse and use half. (use 0.5× the amount)
