Also called deggi mirch powder, degi mirch
North Indian chilli powder blended for deep red colour and moderate heat. Used in tandoori marinades, butter chicken, dals and curries.

What can replace it
- T2 · GoodHot paprika
Similar colour and gentle heat but sweeter, without the Indian chilli aroma.

Grind first; slightly milder than the blend.

Good colour but almost no heat; add a pinch of cayenne.

Heat but little colour; pair with paprika. (use 0.25× the amount)

Much hotter with less colour; use half. (use 0.5× the amount)
